Taxes & Economy

Working people in Oregon are paying more and getting less. Ciatta will fight to eliminate the CAT tax, extend critical credits for working families and affordable housing, and stop the cycle of higher costs with no accountability. Government should live within its means so families can live within theirs.

Working Families & Housing

Housing costs, childcare, and transportation are crushing working households. Ciatta supports workforce housing, homeownership incentives, extended tax credits for families, and restrictions on institutional investors buying up single-family homes. The goal is simple: make it possible for ordinary Portlanders to stay and build a life here.

Mental Health & Addiction

Compassion means helping people recover. Accountability means making sure the programs we fund actually work. Ciatta will expand treatment capacity through public-private partnerships, demand measurable outcomes, and stop wasting money on approaches that enable rather than heal.

Public Defense

A functioning justice system requires both safety and fairness. More police when people are in danger. More treatment when people are sick. And a competent public defense when someone’s liberty is at stake. Ciatta will push for fully funded public defense so the system works for everyone, not just those who can afford it.

Safe Communities

Portlanders deserve neighborhoods where they feel safe walking, working, and raising families. That means enough police and firefighters, local control over public safety, and real treatment for addiction and serious mental illness instead of endless cycling through the streets and jails.

Modernize Oregon’s Elections

Oregonians deserve elections that are accessible, transparent, and trusted across party lines. Ciatta supports voter identification, stronger verification standards, transparent signature-review procedures, and election rules that give every voter confidence in the outcome and process.
