Oregon’s 33rd House District
Oregon House District 33
CIATTA THOMPSON
is a working-class Portlander who’s lived both sides of the political divide. She’s running to represent the People of Oregon’s House District 33 to build a bridge to common sense. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Ciatta spent years as a Democratic organizer before Portland’s far-left politics “red-pilled” her into seeing what’s broken.
Ciatta walked away from the Democrat Party in 2024 while serving as the Vice Chair of the Multnomah County Democrat Central Committee. She registered as a Republican, disgusted by the Democrat political class serving itself over the People.
Ciatta Thompson isn’t loyal to party platforms. She’s loyal to the truth and the everyday people our government consistently leaves behind. Her leadership is proving that courage, truth, and common sense can unite the People of Portland to stand up for change.
Learn About Ciatta’s Plan
Ciatta Thompson for Oregon House District 33
A Plan Rooted in Accountability, Common Sense, AND Compassion.
Restore Local Control of Public Safety
Ciatta believes the people closest to the problem are the ones best equipped to solve it. She’ll champion the Local Control and Safety Act to return the power to counties and cities to address public safety, homelessness, and law enforcement issues without state overreach.
“Portlanders deserve safety, accountability, and local leaders who can act fast.”
Empower Working Families
Ciatta wants to help hard-working families make ends meet by reducing taxes and extending important tax credits.
Eliminate CAT Tax
10 year extension on the Working Family Household & Dependent Care Credit (WFHDC)
10 year extension on the Oregon Affordable Housing Tax Credit (OAHTC)
“You work hard for the money. You should keep more of it.”
Resolve the Addiction and Mental Health Crisis Doom Loop
Ciatta will mandate the creation of mental health and drug treatment facilities statewide through public-private partnerships to ensure every Oregonian has access to actual recovery, not enablement. She’ll require the state to track results of all funding distributions. That means building a statewide database of all nonprofits and NGOs receiving taxpayer funds for homelessness and addiction services, with bi-annual reporting, and audits to show progress.
“If you take the public’s money, show the public your results.”
End Waste and Duplication in Homeless Services
There are over 400 nonprofits in Multnomah County claiming to tackle homelessness, yet the problem keeps growing. Ciatta will end duplication, demand transparency, and suspend funding for organizations that can’t show positive outcomes.
“It’s long past time for accountability in the homeless industrial complex.”
Restore Election Integrity
Ciatta proudly supports the #ENDVBM initiative to end Oregon’s automatic vote-by-mail system. She believes in secure, in-person elections with voter ID to restore confidence and trust in our democratic process.
“If it’s so ‘safe & secure,’ what do they have to hide?”
Strengthen Communities Through Home Ownership
Ciatta will introduce a bill blocking institutional investors from buying single-family homes, ensuring that Oregon neighborhoods remain for families, not Wall Street portfolios.
“Everyone should have access to the American Dream.”
Balance the Scales of Justice
Every Oregonian innocent until proven guilty and deserves a fair fight in court. Ciatta will ensure public defenders are fully funded, restoring balance to a justice system that currently leaves thousands without proper representation.
“Equality in the courtroom is not about race. It’s about finances.”
Ciatta will champion reductions in gas tax, cap the cost of TriMet passes, and stand up to wasteful ODOT spending. She’ll make sure we have good infrastructure and that we can get to work without costing an arm and leg.
Make Transportation Affordable Again
“It shouldn’t cost half your paycheck to get to work and back.”
